Palestinian diplomat highly appreciated Belarus' efforts to welcome children of Donbass
Novopolotsk has recently been visited by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Belarus, including those from Russia, the UAE, Cuba, China, Zimbabwe, India and other countries. The diplomats came to get acquainted with the conditions of stay of the delegation of children from Lisichansk and Severodonetsk.
Nabil Bourchalli, the Adviser to the Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Republic of Belarus, shared his positive impression of what he had seen. The diplomat admitted that, during his trip to the places where children recuperate and spend their time, he received a lot of pleasant emotions and got convinced that the statement that children are not strangers fully applies to Belarus as well. “I have very good impressions. I saw how they are hospitably and well received in Belarus. They are provided with medical examination and schooling. Here they have found many new friends, and their communication will continue. These friendly ties will bind them for many years and definitely remain in memory,” he said.
Nabil Bourchalli stressed that the children had witnessed difficult times, but they can now enjoy an atmosphere of peace and hospitality, kindness and care. “It is in such conditions that every child should live. Belarus has created such a piece of peace for these children. I am very impressed. This is a great job done in Novopolotsk,” he noted.
Referring to the accusations of some Western countries against Belarus and Russia, the diplomat noted that he cannot be responsible for others, “Speaking of what I have seen here, how children are welcomed, I can say that a great humane job has been done. This is a huge help for parents of these children.”
“A lot has been done for these boys and girls. Of course, I cannot speak instead of them, but – as I could see – they are leaving you with good impressions and wishes to return to Belarus again. I can confirm for sure that everything I have seen here confirms the peaceful nature of Belarus. This has not become a discovery for me: I have got convinced of this over many years of my diplomatic work in Belarus,” Nabil Bourchalli.
In this regard, the diplomat mentioned his meeting with minor migrants from Palestine three years ago in Pinsk, “They were detained for attempting to illegally cross the state border. I thought they would be in prison, but I was shocked in a good way when I found out that they were in a shelter, studying with other children. They were welcomed very well. This testifies to the hospitality of Belarus and Belarusians.”
