Pakistani Ambassador: friendship with Belarus will only grow stronger

Co-operation between Minsk and Islamabad will continue to flourish – as stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus Muhemmed Aejaz at the celebration of the 85th anniversary of Pakistan’s Resolution Day

The Ambassador noted the strong and evolving ties between Pakistan and Belarus, “Over the past three decades, our relations have developed into a multilateral co-operation based on mutual respect and common interests. The opening of embassies in Islamabad (2014) and Minsk (2015), as well as the exchange of high-level visits, have significantly strengthened our relations.”

According to Muhemmed Aejaz, President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s landmark visit to Pakistan in November 2024 and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Minsk have further deepened the interaction between the two countries.

“More than 100 memoranda of understanding and agreements have been signed over the past decade. Our partnership covers industry, agriculture, education, healthcare, science and technology, as well as defence. The last session of the joint economic commission confirmed the common commitment to expand these ties,” the diplomat added.

Apart from diplomacy, cultural relations between Belarus and Pakistan are flourishing thanks to films, art, music and educational exchanges, enriching bilateral ties

“We express our deep gratitude to the Government of Belarus for its continued support and are confident that our friendship will continue to flourish,” then Ambassador emphasised.
