More than 63 percent of respondents of the Belarus. A Vision of the Future poll plan to take part in the referendum on amendments to the Constitution – as reported during today’s presentation of the survey results at the National Press Centre

10,217 people were interviewed during the study run from November 15th to December 4th. Among the questions they were asked was the following: do you plan to take part in a referendum on amendments to the Constitution? 36.6 percent of respondents answered ‘yes’, 26.8 percent – ‘rather yes’, while 12 percent found it difficult to answer.

The First Vice Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Doctor of Philosophy and Professor Svetlana Vinokurova, commented, “The questions were quite challengeable for respondents, and many found it difficult to answer. It is not without reason: amendments to the Constitution require extensive professional knowledge. However, when the question touched on particular aspects, almost 100 percent of respondents supported the need to preserve social guarantees in society. In addition, the readiness to take part in the referendum is quite high as well.”
