Over 5 months, growth rate of Belarusian agricultural exports totalled 106.3% compared to last year
Over the first five months of this year, agricultural exports totalled $3bn, to be exact – $2 billion 998 million, i.e., 106.3 percent compared to last year – as noted by Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel
He clarified: last year there were 124 percent, while this year another 6.3 percent was added to them.
“We sell 74 percent of all products on the Russian market, so our task today is to develop other markets,” said the Deputy PM. “The President paved the way to Africa, to Zimbabwe. The ‘first robins’ – the first 100 tonnes of milk powder and 25 tonnes of baby food – are to be delivered to the African continent in August. Now samples have arrived from Kenya for butter and milk powder. We analyse them in order to bring our products to another country on the African continent: Kenya. As people say, there’s no other way to advance than by taking steps.”
