Opinion: Western media are queuing up to Lukashenko to hear his opinion on current events

Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, commented on the interest of foreign media in the President of Belarus. As he told the ONT TV channel, this interest was especially evident during the CIS Heads of State summit, when Aleksandr Lukashenko was interviewed by several TV channels, including the American NBC.

“Aleksandr Lukashenko's clear, independent and sovereign position, as well as loyalty to his allied obligations certainly commands respect from many leaders and even ordinary people. Therefore, we observe such an attention to him personally and to his position. The world lacks strong-willed leaders – able to clearly and confidently outline their position – now. We see what is happening in Europe. All are talking about the decline in the level and quality of political leadership in Europe. Therefore, even the Western media are queuing up to Aleksandr Lukashenko to learn of his opinion about the ongoing events," the expert stated.
