Opinion: Victory Day Parade in Moscow is a response to Kiev’s sabotage and terrorist campaign launched on the eve of May 9th
The parade in Moscow is a tribute to the heroes who liberated our land and Europe during the Great Patriotic War, as well as a response to the sabotage and terrorist campaign launched by Kiev on the eve of May 9th – as stated by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, in his talk with Alfa Radio
The parade has been held today, May 9th, on Moscow’s Red Square in honour of the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The event was attended by the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, as well as the Prime Minister of Armenia.
“They [in the West] are making attempts to assert that Russia is isolated, and that it has been left alone. Look at how they are looking for any Chinese hint to say that China is moving aside. Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian army and all those who have organised the parade are great. This is the best response to a sabotage and terrorist campaign launched on the eve of Victory Day in order to demoralise Russian society and disrupt this great holiday. Such attempts have failed. They [Ukrainians] are attacking the Kremlin, trying to threaten, but they will not be able to break the Russian spirit,” Mr. Gigin stressed.
The expert added that there had been numerous attempts to seize and destroy Russia throughout its history, but nobody managed to do that. “Everyone was crushed. I am convinced that we will cope with this infection that has engulfed the fraternal Ukrainian people. It [the parade in Moscow] is, of course, a powerful ideological action, a tribute to the heroes who liberated our land and Europe. It is also a hope for a future victory," the expert said.
Mr. Gigin emphasised that Belarus is interested in Russia's victory in the Ukrainian conflict, “The victory of the Russian Federation in the special military operation is our victory. After all, we see the plans that are being nurtured for the case if it happens other way round. They [Western countries] just want to tear our country apart. We stand in solidarity with those who are fighting for good and true values. There is no longer any doubt about who is on the other side of the front. It is an absolute evil. The guys who are fighting on the front line against them are fighting for all of us. Honour and praise to them, we wish them victory.”
