Opinion: US has plans for some regions and powers

The United States wants to establish a new interaction between countries in order to benefit from that – as noted by political expert Dmitry Drobnitsky in his talk with the Soloviev Live channel

According to the expert, Washington no longer needs the European Union in its current form, “The United States has plans for certain regions and powers, and the European Union accordingly needs to be pushed off, since it is difficult, expensive and senseless to support it. Most likely, it [the EU] will not be useful to Washington, with the exception of some countries that are needed to contain Russia,” Mr. Drobnitsky stressed, adding that the US President's National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, had previously proposed a plan for building a new interaction between the countries.

“He [Mr. Sullivan] said that there will be a mixture of various alliances, blocs and other interactions with those whom the United States can call partners and allies. The countries taking sides with Washington will play the key role. According to him, there will be other international organisations, unions and blocs, but the United States will provide there a kind of the world order governance, which they will influence not as a hegemon, but as a strong player. This is what Mr. Sullivan was talking about. However, a problem of at least two powers – Russia and China – is emerging. Most likely, it will not be possible to build an interaction with these countries that could be beneficial to the United States. It [the US] does not actually want to fight against Beijing and Moscow. A tough conflict with China or Russia would not meet the US goal, since resources are needed for another purpose. The United States does not wish to invest into a war and redistribute its efforts," Mr. Drobnitsky said.

With this in mind, the expert believes Washington will not bring conflicts to a level that is financially unprofitable for the United States.
