Opinion: US carefully hides the truth about Ukraine from its citizens
American journalists are under strong pressure of the US authorities, so Western publications hide the truth about the situation in Ukraine – as stated by an American political expert, President of the Centre for the National Interest and publisher of The National Interest magazine, Dimitri Simes, in his talk with the Soloviev Live channel
According to the expert, there is only one media outlet in the United States that does not conceal the truth from Americans.
“Until now, the truth about Ukraine has been carefully hidden from American citizens. The exception is the Fox TV channel and its columnist Tucker Carlson. Congressional investigations are now coming, experts and witnesses – who are mostly not allowed on TV channels – will be invited to comment. It will be very difficult to ignore them. I have no doubt that their stories about Ukraine will greatly differ from the mainstream version, which portrays Ukraine as a country with a flourishing democracy and an innocent victim of Russian aggression," Mr. Simes said.
The expert believes such hearings can influence American public opinion and the support of Kiev by the United States. “These hearings will certainly be broadcast on a channel that primarily covers the Congress’ work. Millions of Americans watch it," he added.
