Opinion: Poles have plan of military aggression against Belarus

Poles have a clear plan of military aggression against Belarus, and our task is accordingly to demonstrate to the enemy that any attempt to invade will lead to the losses and sacrifices that are incompatible with the solution of the tasks set – as stated by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society

Speaking about joint efforts of Russia and Belarus on the issue of security, the expert stressed that protection of the southern borders is of great importance, though a threat is also coming from the north-west direction. “Poland is enlarging its armed forces. Militarisation is observed there. Actually, it is becoming a major military power, and NATO’s infrastructure is widely deployed there," Mr. Gigin noted.

The expert supposes that Poles have a plan of military aggression against Belarus. “Moreover, it has several versions – as a limited invasion, which they planned in 2020 by special operations forces, and as a full-scale one, unfortunately," he explained.

Mr. Gigin added that Belarusian military is well aware of this plan, and it is necessary to closely monitor the state of the country’s security system under such conditions. “These issues may be raised at a meeting, possibly at an expanded meeting with the Security Council and under the leadership of the President. Not only the state of the Armed Forces, but also all law enforcement agencies will be studied,” he stressed.

The expert also outlined an important task for Belarus at this stage, “We must convincingly demonstrate to the enemy that any attempt to invade the territory of our country will bring them the losses and sacrifices that are incompatible with the solution of the tasks set. This fundamental issue is now on the agenda.”
