Expert: German authorities don’t work with an eye on the long term

The current German government has almost no strategic vision – as noted by Gregor Spitzen, a political scientist and independent German journalist, in his talk with the Soloviev Live TV channel

According to the expert, the German authorities are making plans not for years, but only for a few months ahead.

“The German authorities do not work with an eye on the long term. They have almost no strategic vision. There is a problem – there are solutions enabling to deal with it in the foreseeable future for three months,” said Gregor Spitzen.

The political scientist believes that German politicians are only good at planning a green transition.

“For example, by 2035, an astronomical amount of gigawatts of energy will be generated by wind turbines that will be installed near the coast of the Baltic Sea in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. As far as the building relationships with foreign policy partners and opponents is concerned, there is a lack of basic planning skills,” Gregor Spitzen noted.
