Opinion: Belarus’ President never hypes himself, but solves real problems

A deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Oleg Gaidukevich, has commented on Aleksandr Lukashenko’s recent signing of the order On Improving the Efficiency of the Healthcare System

At a meeting on May 23rd, Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to eliminate all shortcomings in healthcare by January 1st, 2024, and he later signed an order on improving the efficiency of the healthcare system.

“Any European president is now busier with Ukraine than with his own country. He is busy with [US President Joe] Biden and how to please him, how to send more tanks to Ukraine. These are not Europe’s national interests, and it has been talked about many times. European leaders do not defend the national interests of their ow countries,” the MP stated in his talk with Alfa Radio. “In turn, Aleksandr Lukashenko is engaged in non-abstract matters, focusing on the interests of his country and people. Geopolitics are covered by TV and radio, the authorities are engaged not in geopolitics, but in their direct duties. The Head of State deals with geopolitics because he is President. Our ministers do not deal with geopolitics. The worst thing is when ministers in many countries are simply hyping themselves, being not interested in the real result.”

Mr. Gaidukevich stressed that Belarus’ Head of State is solving real problems, unlike European leaders who raise this or that topic only for the sake of a hype.

“Aleksandr Lukashenko’s order on healthcare is another proof that the Head of State is not hyping himself, but he is solving real problems. The order envisages clear mechanisms for how to fulfil the President's instructions. Regulations have been given to make the healthcare system work better in the country. Specific deadlines and tasks have been set. The monitoring group on healthcare will continue its work, and it will report to the President on the results. All this suggests that the Belarusian leader is interested in the real result. He understands perfectly well that socially significant topics (healthcare, education) and the economy, on which everything is based, cannot be overlooked. This is the basis of the country's security. If there is no healthcare and education, if the economy does not work properly, then there will be no strong army and it will be impossible to talk about any internal unity in the country, since words cannot solve anything. Belarus pays pensions and salaries, it gives access to healthcare and provides an opportunity to teach children for free. These are our achievements that cannot be lost," Mr. Gaidukevich summed up.
