Opinion: Belarus is building its political system for many years to come

In Belarus, laws are written not for specific members of the Government: they are focused on the future – as noted by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, in his talk with Alfa Radio

“We are building our political system for many years to come, and this indicates the confidence of the authorities – also being an indicator of the real situation in the country. Of course, Aleksandr Lukashenko’s actions are the ones of a politician who is building the Belarusian statehood,” Mr. Gigin said.

“In recent times, all actions of the authorities and civil society demonstrate consistency, attention to history, historical continuity, and building of ideological guidelines without an excessive race. The architecture of the political system and its foundation are also being built. In general, this mechanism – which is being implemented in practice – speaks of the maturity of the Belarusian statehood," the expert added.

According to Mr. Gigin, citizens of other countries admire the Belarusian model of development. “It is very attractive for many states. Ukrainians said that if they had it like in Belarus, there would not be this tragedy that their state is experiencing now," he noted.
