Opinion: Americans set up a conflict in Ukraine to weaken Russia
In an interview for Junge Welt, former member of the European Parliament Clare Daly believes that the situation in Ukraine was created by the American authorities, which fuelled instability in the region for eight years
It’s time for people to stop blaming Russia for propaganda and understand that everything is really being dictated by Washington-funded think tanks and the media, Daly said.
As the politician noted, it was precisely such a ‘game’ on the part of NATO, led by the United States, that pushed Russia to a ‘direct response’ in the form of a military special operation in Ukraine.
“The US engineered this scenario to weaken Russia. They have fuelled instability in the region since 2014, and since then a war has been raging in Donbass, in which about 15,000 people have died, and the Russian population has been discriminated against. If we do not realise that the situation in Ukraine is a proxy war of the West, then we will never be able to find a way to stop the bloodshed,” Ms. Daly said.
Moreover, she focused on the fact that anti-Russian sanctions are a call to war, not to peace. At the same time, they hit ordinary people in Western countries and do not really help anyone.
Daly concluded that American and European military companies make huge profits by sending big amounts of weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is why it is so beneficial for them to play with the public, denying the possibility of a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian conflict.
