Olympic Christmas Tree gathered 500+ children from all over Belarus

More than five hundred children aged from 3 to 13 years gathered for the New Year's Eve festive performance: Olympic Christmas Tree. Children and grandchildren of Olympic champions and medallists, sports veterans, representatives of sports organisations and journalists from all regions of Belarus arrived to Minsk’s Falcon Club Arena to touch the miracle together and to share warmth, smiles and good mood with each other. Famous mothers, fathers and grandparents who have brought much glory and many medals to their native Belarus – including Aliaksandr and Andrei Bahdanovich, Antonina Koshel, Nikolai Alekhin, Andrei Aramnau, Ivan Tikhan, Alla Tsuper, Kseniya Sankovich, Vadzim Straltsou, Natalya Tsilinskaya and Liubou Charkashyna – plunged into a fairy tale with great pleasure together with the younger generation.

“The Olympic Christmas Tree has gathered many friends: champion athletes, NOC partners, and those who love and play sports,” Belarus’ NOC President, Viktor Lukashenko, said. “New Year is a celebration of the future. We all would like to see ourselves happy, joyful, prosperous and healthy. All of us, adults, want to see our children smiling, with happy eyes. Everything is in our hands. If we set such goals, we must achieve them by any means – in the way our famous athletes do in achieving their goals, despite all the difficulties that have befallen them. Happy New Year to you and all the best!”

The National Olympic Committee annually participates in Our Children charity event. This year, children from six cities of the country which had hosted the Vytoki. A Step Toward Olympus sports festival in 2022 arrived, among other boys and girls. They received certificates for sports equipment: bicycles, balls, tubing, skis and other necessary things. In addition, all of them got sweet gifts and a new issue of the TEAM BY Olympic magazine released jointly with the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House.
