News video: sowing campaign launched in Belarus

A spring sowing campaign has started in Belarus, with Br2,820m planned to be spent to complete it. Money will be spent to buy fuels and lubricants, fertilisers, plant protection products, seeds, and maintenance of agricultural machinery. More than 35,000 tractor drivers are involved in field works countrywide, and plans are tremendous: to harvest over 8.5m tonnes of grain.

Sowing territories will be covered by:

winter crops – 1.9m hectares

spring crops – 2.2m hectares

sugar beet – 98,500 hectares

potatoes – 20,100 hectares
