The cultivation of persimmons in Fuping has a long history. The local pointed variety has large fruits of bright colour, with dense flesh and pronounced sweetness, which is ideal for the production of dried persimmons.
In addition to traditional dried fruits, over a dozen of products — including frozen persimmons, drinks made from them, tea made from persimmon leaves – are produced in Fuping. Thanks to the e-commerce development, persimmons grown in Fuping, as well as products made from them, are rapidly gaining markets across the country and serving as a source of income for local farmers.
