In the US capital region, Washington, New York and a number of north-eastern states, a dangerous level of air pollution has been declared.

Wildfires have been raging in Canada in recent weeks. By June 6th, the authorities had recorded more than 400 fires. Two hundred of them cannot be controlled at the moment. The Canadian Armed Forces are involved in extinguishing fires. The country has also announced fundraising to help the victims.
