New Chinese Ambassador conveyed greetings to Lukashenko from Xi Jinping and confirmed support for Belarus
New Ambassador of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan conveyed greetings to Aleksandr Lukashenko from Chinese President Xi Jinping and confirmed support for Belarus during the ceremony of presenting credentials to the Belarusian leader, BelTA reports
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the Ambassador to convey his best wishes to the Chinese President.
In turn, the Chinese diplomat said, “Today, on the day of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, I am honoured to present you with my credentials. Let me convey greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping.”
He noted that earlier the Chinese leader had already received congratulations from the President of Belarus on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
“China and Belarus are true friends and reliable partners, whose relations are built on the basis of mutual trust and sincerity. President Xi Jinping maintains the kindest friendly relations with you. Under your leadership, the Chinese-Belarusian all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership is constantly being strengthened. China highly appreciates that Belarusians always provide us with strong support in key issues related to China’s fundamental interests. Our country, in turn, will continue to support the development path chosen by Belarus in line with its national characteristics, and support the efforts of the Belarusian government aimed at protecting its state sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. As the new ambassador, I will do my best to strengthen our friendship and co-operation,” Zhang Wenchuan said.
He wished Belarus’ President strong health and well-being, as well as success in all his endeavours.
“Thank you. Don’t worry about the support. Thank you very much,” the Head of State replied.
