NATO urges arms companies to boost production due to stock shortages

Due to the reduction in stockpiles of weapons, NATO countries are urging arms companies to increase production to reinforce their own stores and resupply Ukraine – as reported by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation, RIA Novosti writes

According to the news agency, some EU member states that provided assistance to Kiev are running out of supplies.

“It may take years to make up the shortfall,” according to a Bloomberg report.

It is noted that because of this, the allied countries cannot provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons in a short time.

Bloomberg sources said NATO countries are urging companies to boost production to help them restock — to both resupply Ukraine and reinforce their own stores in a climate of heightened tension.
