NATO training centre to be built in Lithuania for €7m

A training centre of NATO will be built in Lithuania by mid-2024 – as stated by the Lithuanian construction company Merko which signed a contract envisaging implementation of this project, TASS reports

“The construction contract was signed with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, and the cost of the project is estimated at about 7m Euros,” the company said in a statement.

The project is planned to be completed in Q2 2024, and Merko does not disclose the timing, the location or other details.

The Lithuanian Defence Ministry acts in the same way: it has only informed the media that the new facility is part of the infrastructure necessary for the Lithuanian army.
