NATO to deepen interaction with Asian partners due to China’s position on Ukraine
Because of China’s refusal to condemn the Russian military special operation in Ukraine, NATO countries will deepen interaction with partners in the Asia-Pacific region – as reported by TASS
According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the North Atlantic Alliance sees that China has been unwilling to condemn the Russian special operation in Ukraine. In his opinion, such policy counteracts the international order, which is based on rules, and it is even more important for democracies to ‘stand together and protect our values’.
“So I expect we will agree to deepen NATO’s co-operation with our Asia-Pacific partners,” stressed Mr. Stoltenberg.
On April 6th-7th, NATO Foreign Ministers are expected to discuss a new concept for the alliance, which for the first time will reflect the growing influence of China.
