NATO Secretary General wants to propose simplified access to US military products market for Europeans

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, amid Donald Trump's demands to increase defence spending, intends to propose to the US President-elect to simplify access to the US military products market for European partners, TASS reports with reference to DPA

It is noted that Mr. Rutte drew attention to the fact that orders from European allies in the United States are already estimated at hundreds of billions of Dollars, but – as he added – this amount could have been even higher ‘if the US defence industry had been liberalised and more open and if it had not required approval from Congress, the Pentagon and the White House’.

The NATO Secretary General named Patriot missile defence systems among the American weapons which Europeans are particularly interested in.
