MTZ to supply 3,500+ BELARUS tractors to Zimbabwe within two years

Minsk Tractor Works and its official dealer in Zimbabwe, AFTRADE DMCC, have signed a memorandum of strategic partnership within the framework of promoting BELARUS machinery on the Zimbabwean market, BelTA reports with reference to the Belarusian company’s press service

The document has been signed today as part of the Belarusian-Zimbabwean Business Forum in Harare, which is taking place on the eve of a state visit of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to Zimbabwe.

"The Zimbabwean market was opened several years ago for BELARUS machinery thanks to our reliable partner, AFTRADE DMCC. We are happy to talk about strategic partnership now, which implies working on a systematic perspective basis," Vitaly Vovk, the Minsk Tractor Works’ General Director, said.

In line with the agreement, the Belarusian plant will supply 3,575 tractors to Zimbabwe in 2023-2024, and further delivery volumes and dates will be determined based on the results of negotiations with Zimbabwean agricultural enterprises.

From 2018 to 2022, the Minsk Tractor Works exported more than 1.8 thousand units of equipment to Zimbabwe. "We know that, in 2022, the country fully provided itself with grain – for the first time in the past fifty years. Pleasingly, that happened thanks to the BELARUS machinery – among other things,” Mr. Vovk stressed.

As informed by the Minsk Tractor Works’ General Director, a multifunctional service centre has been established in Harare with branches in Mutara and Bulawayo, and a spare parts warehouse for servicing the supplied equipment is also operational in the country. In addition, MTZ, together with its partner, is training consumers in the operation of BELARUS tractors on an ongoing basis.

Minsk Tractor Works is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery – not only in the CIS, but also in the world. Customers are offered 100+ tractor models in more than 200 assembly variants for all climatic and operational conditions. The company’s new vehicles enjoy extensive aggregation capabilities with agricultural machines from various manufacturers. MTZ develops, manufactures and exports wheeled tractors and spare parts, organises their production abroad on a licensed basis, provides services for the establishment and maintenance of delivered machines, conducts training on the operation and maintenance of manufactured equipment.
