MTZ plans to supply at least 4,500 tractors to Pakistan in 2022

In 2022, the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) plans to supply at least 4,500 tractors to Pakistan, with two commercial contracts signed during the working visit of MTZ’s Director General Vitaly Vovk to this country – as reported by the official telegram channel of the enterprise

“The negotiations in Karachi resulted in the current official dealer of MTZ – Shahzad Trade Link – undertaking to develop sales of Belarus tractor equipment and spare parts for it,” the company informed. “Next year, it is planned to sell at least 3,000 tractors. Moreover, Vitaly Vovk met with the management of another partner in the Pakistani city of Lahore: Fecto Belarus Tractors (Private) Limited, with which a commercial contract was also signed for the supply of over 1,500 Belarus tractors.”

The report notes that, this year, Pakistan’s Shahzad Trade Link organised sales of Belarus 800 series tractors and also began supplying a new modification of Belarus 500 series tractors with a power regulator, enabling to develop regional sales and enter new market segments.

It was reported earlier that, in January-November 2021, MTZ exports increased by 28.4 percent compared to the similar period of the last year. In total, over 33,000 units were supplied abroad. The biggest growth rate – 247.4 percent – was demonstrated by the countries of the South East Asia and Middle East, with Pakistan accounting for the significant part of the shipments.

Pakistan is an old and strategically important export region for MTZ. Belarus tractors occupy one of the leading positions of Belarusian exports into this South Asia country. The Belarusian tractor equipment has been shipped to Pakistan for more than sixty years (since 1955).
