MPs made statement in connection with adoption of another resolution on Belarus by German Bundestag

The Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus has issued a statement in connection with the adoption by the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany of the resolution: For Democratic Belarus in European Family. The document, in particular, reads that this new resolution on Belarus adopted by the German Bundestag testifies to a complete misunderstanding of the internal political processes in Belarus and the dynamics of the regional situation.

“Official Berlin stubbornly refuses to recognise that the Republic of Belarus is a sovereign state and the Belarusian people independently determine the future of their country. As a result, Berlin's efforts amount to destructive statements aimed at undermining the statehood and sovereignty of Belarus, and are interference in the internal affairs of another state. It is gratifying that not all German parliamentarians support this approach," the statement reads.

The parliamentarians drew attention to the fact that only the factions of the ruling coalition parties voted for the resolution, which, from the point of view of the deputies of the House of Representatives, does not protect the interests of German citizens, but acts at the behest of transnational external forces.

“There is growing disagreement in the Bundestag and in German political circles with this disastrous course, and this trend is gaining a steady and growing character," the statement emphasises.
