MP on President’s inauguration ceremony: pride for country and people’s choice

The inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, evoked a sense of pride for our country and the choice of the Belarusian people – as noted by diplomat Sergei Rachkov, the Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly

Speaking about his impressions after the ceremony, Mr. Rachkov noted, “The ceremony was gorgeous! Emotions were overwhelming. First of all, we are proud of our country. That we have such a President, that he was elected by the people. He has chosen the right path of development: both politically and socio-economically.”

He recalled that the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President completes the country’s political modernisation, “As for Aleksandr Lukashenko’s speech at the ceremony, it turned out to be very profound, multifaceted, impressive,” the diplomat continued. “It was addressed first of all to Belarusians. Certain proposals were made as to how we will develop over the next five years. The President could not but remember that he is taking office in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and that we are grateful to the descendants who defended our freedom and independence. It is also very right that the President addressed those who are outside the country, those who wish us chaos. We will not allow them to achieve their goals, just as we did not allow them to do so in 2020.”
