Most popular Belarusian museums named

There were 155 museums in Belarus by the end of 2024, sb.by reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee’s review prepared to date with Cultural Workers’ Day, celebrated annually in Belarus on the second Sunday of October

The total number includes 100 complex, 39 historical, 10 art, 4 literary, 1 natural science, and one sci-tech museums. 3.6 million items are kept in the museum collections, of which 77.9 percent are included in an electronic catalogue.

Last year, 161.8 thousand excursions and 5.2 thousand temporary exhibitions were organised in the Belarusian museums, and they were visited by 8.7 million people (14.6 percent more than in 2023).

The Khatyn State Memorial Complex ranked first among the most visited museums, and it was followed by the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex and the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History.
