Morawiecki proposes to distribute Russian frozen assets between Ukraine and EU
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke of a ‘relatively easy’ way to find funding. In particular, the politician proposed to transfer part of Russia’s frozen assets to Ukraine, and the rest to the European Union, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the Prime Minister of Poland, these assets amount to several hundred billion Euros.
“Today there is an opportunity to get these funds for Ukraine’s benefit, as well as for the needs of the peoples of the EU and Poland,” Mateusz Morawiecki believes.
The politician called his proposal a ‘relatively easy’ way to find funding.
“There is one source that is very easy or relatively easy to obtain when it comes to funds, namely the frozen assets of the Russian Federation, the frozen assets of Russian oligarchs,” he said.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Poland admitted that the country will face a difficult winter. However, according to him, the authorities of the republic are doing everything so that ordinary citizens do not suffer from the consequences of cold weather.
