Modern world split into two blocks, expert explains

As noted by Aleksei Avdonin, an analyst with the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, our modern world is split into two blocks: the collective West and the conditionally collective East – and they witness a fairly high level of tension

“We must clearly understand that the world is now divided into two blocks: conditionally the collective West and the collective East. It is clear that there is a very high level of tension between them – which is connected not only with history interpretation but, primarily, the deepest financial and economic reasons. The West is currently experiencing a financial, economic and industrial crisis. One of the ways to settle it is to create a conflict zone at the interface point, and the territories near the border – Poland, the Baltic States and Ukraine – act as such. We see how they are pumping up the Ukrainian territory with weapons and equipment by any means possible. This is being done for a local resolution of the situation to develop into a large regional or world war," the expert said in his talk with the First Channel of the Belarusian Radio.
