Mobile subscribers illustrated

A mobile operator has studied the habits of its subscribers, while six artists have painted their portraits

Vadik Tishchenko has drawn the main mobile Internet user: a 53-57-year-old man from a large district centre. He is passionate about his hobby and actively uploads photos to stock sites, social networks and thematic publics. “This is a naive art illustration, with elements of comic cubism. My character makes efforts to live beautifully and seems illuminating the surroundings amidst grey wall,” Vadik comments.

Aleksandra Strashko has painted a portrait of the most silent subscriber: an introvert woman who protects her personal space and excludes any live communication, trying to solve all issues online. “My character has chosen a reclusive lifestyle. She does not communicate much online and also offline. She is smiling but no one can say for sure what this mysterious smile hides behind. I’ve been inspired by Fauvism in my work,” Aleksandra says.

Sergei Savich has portrayed the most talkative subscriber: a young man from Minsk. He prefers live meetings to online communication and is not enthusiastic about modern technologies. Instead of messaging, he’d rather talk by phone and these talks might last for over 280 hours a month!

Leonid Nesteruk has depicted the most advanced user: a 35-37-year-old lady from a regional centre. She is convinced that life should be active and interesting. She regularly communicates in messengers and uses around 6 GB of traffic every month. His character starts her day with Instagram and loves online shopping.

Pavel Omelyusik has, in turn, painted the most advanced man: a 40-year-old user from Minsk. He is convinced that it’s necessary to keep up with the times and enjoy modern technologies. “At first, it seemed to me that the man resembles me but I later distinguished many differences, especially visual ones. It’s actually a self-portrait, though in a different dimension,” the artist smiles.

Vsevolod Shvaiba has drawn the most loyal subscriber who’s not changing his operator for more than 15 years. “My character is quite self-confident and knows his goals well. However, we cannot understand him right away. Therefore, half of his face is somewhere in the depth of space. I’ve depicted my character with calligraphic lines which symbolise the chaos of our world. At the same time, there is harmony in this chaos and it’s woven into the serious face.”
