Miyazaki announced work over action-adventure film

As reported by a channel devoted to movies and TV series, legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki was going to end his career in 2023 after the release of The Boy and the Heron cartoon, but – to the delight of fans – he has decided to work on another project

The news that Hayao Miyazaki has started working on another project was announced by his son Goro. According to him, the cartoon (which is in development) will look like an action-adventure film, evoking nostalgia and reminiscent of old times. No more details are available.

Hayao Miyazaki's latest work – The Boy and the Heron – generated $173m+ in the global box office, though it had no marketing promotion.

The animator is now 83 years old. He is a three-time Oscar winner, the author of 11 full-length cartoons and the co-founder of the Ghibli animation studio. Hayao Miyazaki's eldest son, Goro, is also an animator, and he has already released three full-length films and an anime series.
