Mr. Pankin noted that Russia supports Belarus in countering western pressure. “We conduct a co-ordinated policy of taking retaliatory measures and joint ‘stop lists’, and also help mitigate the negative socio-economic consequences of restrictions for Belarusian citizens. We will continue this close co-operation with Minsk,” he stressed.

Mr. Pankin added that Russia consistently condemns the sanctions practice and is in constant dialogue on this topic with partners in the Commonwealth and the EAEU.

As stated by the official, by now, the EAEU states have agreed on a number of measures for mutual support and assistance in the event of such restrictions being imposed by a third party against one of the countries of the Union, as well as in order to minimise damage to the common EAEU market.
