Mezentsev: ensuring defence capability is one of Union State priorities
Ensuring defence capability is one of the priorities of the Union State – as stated by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev on the sidelines of the Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World high-level international conference, held today in Minsk
“One of the main priority tasks is to ensure the defines capability of the Union State – as is confirmed by the adoption of the Union State new programmes, which are dedicated to improving the infrastructure of the current group of forces and assets on the territory of Belarus and modernising logistics support. In November 2021, at a meeting of the Union State Supreme State Council, the Migration Policy Concept was adopted and approved. The most important document was adopted long before the events with which the countries of the collective West reproach us, becoming a logical continuation of the entire policy to implement a range of provisions of the Union State Treaty, which truly ensures the protection of the Union State borders.”
The State Secretary of the Union State drew attention to the fact that the improvement of the work carried out today by the defence departments cannot be designated by any final milestone. The changing and complicated situation in the Eastern European region, the increase in challenges and threats are factors that are taken into account and to which the Union State adequately responds.
