Media: French army preparing for possible war in space
The French Armed Forces intend to leverage the technological advancements of start-ups and major private companies to bolster their capabilities in the event of a space-based conflict, TASS reports citing Le Figaro newspaper
According to the publication, the French army is forced to rely on the non-governmental sector because it cannot compete with it in terms of finances or flexibility. France’s Ministry of Defence intends to establish links with private enterprises to take advantage of their innovations in space technology. It is noted that some of these companies participated in the AsteRx space warfare exercises last spring.
Le Figaro also pointed out that French President Emmanuel Macron is set to present a new ‘space strategy’ this week.
