Media: countries from US sphere of influence now seeking to join BRICS
The unipolar world, once dominated by the United States, is becoming a thing of the past, opening the way to multipolarity, with countries that used to be in the sphere of American influence now seeking to join BRICS, TASS reports citing the Foreign Affairs magazine
According to media reports, India, which is a member of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue along with Australia, the US and Japan, is among the founding members of BRICS and maintains good relations with Russia, expanding co-operation with it.
The magazine also recalled that NATO member Turkiye signed a contract to buy Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile systems and was invited to become a BRICS partner in 2024.
As the publication notes, ‘the US and its closest allies no longer represent the world’s largest economic bloc; the BRICS group – now comprising ten countries – accounts for more than a third of global GDP which exceeds the share of the Group of Seven’.
