Media: Australia to buy 20 MLRS HIMARS from the US
Australia will purchase twenty HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems from the United States by 2026, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Australian ABC News TV channel
It is informed that the Australian government has already signed a relevant agreement. The total sum of the deal will make about one to two billion Australian Dollars (681.5m-1.36bn US Dollars), and the Australian army ‘will get an unprecedented long-range strike potential’.
Moreover, the country’s government has signed an agreement on buying Norwegian Naval Strike Missile. The exact number of the latter is not specified.
Earlier, Lithuania signed an agreement on buying American MLRS HIMARS. The country’s Defence Minister said the document was a significant step to strengthen Lithuanian’s army.
