Media: anti-Muslim cases quadrupled in UK since October 2023

Anti-Muslim attacks have surged in the UK over the past four months, TASS reports

According to the Sky News channel, citing a report by the authors of the Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks (Tell MAMA) project, during this time period, more than 500 incidents motivated by anti-Muslim hate were registered in the UK. A significant part of them were characterised by violent manifestations. In over 65 percent of these cases, women were the target.

Tell MAMA director Iman Atta stated, “This rise in anti-Muslim hate is unacceptable and we hope that political leaders speak out to send a clear message that anti-Muslim hate, like antisemitism, is unacceptable in our country.”

The number of such cases increased sharply in the UK after October 7th, 2023, when members of the Palestinian Hamas movement penetrated from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, killing civilians of border settlements and taking hostages.
