In 2021, the university’s 1,160 state-funded places have been applied by 2,014 young people. In turn, 1,470 applications were received for 1,035 places of paid education.

As informed by the educational establishment’s press service, these results became possible thanks to a systematic career guidance work of the university and the measures aimed at increasing the prestige of teaching as a profession. However, the 2021 enrolment campaign also revealed a number of problems: i.e. four state-funded places in the Physics and Computer Science specialty remained vacant, while some specialties of full-time and part-time education registered a decrease in passing scores.

As noted by Rector Aleksandr Zhuk, the quality of teacher training largely depends on the admission campaign success. In recent years, much has been done to improve career guidance, but the university staff should go further – diversifying the list of countries to attract foreign citizens, offering and implementing new creative approaches to working with prospective students.

The Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University is the country's leading higher educational establishment to train, retrain and enhance qualification of education specialists. About 11,000 students are taught here in 31 specialties of the 1st stage of higher education and seven enlarged specialties of the 2nd stage of higher education (master's degree).
