Many-sided co-operation of Belarus and Qatar
Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikalai Barysevich, has met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Ahmad Hassan Al Hammadi, as part of a regular round of inter-ministerial political consultations – as informed by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
It’s been reported that a wide range of issues of the Belarusian-Qatari relations – including co-operation in the political, humanitarian, sports and aviation spheres – were discussed. Improvement of the legal framework, liaisons of the two states’ parliaments and within international organisations were also in focus of attention.
The sides shared their views on enhancement of investment, trade and economic relations which are a priority area of co-operation between the two countries. They exchanged opinions on regional issues as well.
In addition, according to the Foreign Ministry, on September 20th-21st, Mr. Barysevich and the Chairman of the Management Board of the Development Bank, Alexander Egorov, met with the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, the Qatar Investment Authority and the Qatar Development Bank. The sides then discussed promising areas of credit and investment co-operation of mutual interest. An agreement was reached on terms of the next meeting of the intergovernmental joint committee, as well as the Belarusian-Qatari Joint Business Council, in Minsk.
