The strike will unite thousands of people and involve about a quarter of all UK hospitals. However, following a decision of the trade union, nurses working in intensive care and emergency departments will not participate in the strike.

Protests are planned to continue. Medical workers’ another two-day strike is scheduled for February 6th-7th.

In the UK, inflation has reached a record level in almost 40 years. Therefore, teachers, doctors, railway workers, border control officers, postmen, bus drivers, driving examiners and representatives of a number of other professions repeatedly hold strikes demanding to raise salaries in accordance with the inflation level.
