Malaysian PM: democracy is not reflected in politics of US elite

Democracy and the expectations of ordinary Americans are not reflected in the politics pursued by the US elite – as stated by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, RIA Novosti reports

In an interview with RIA Novosti and RT, the Malaysian PM commented on Washington's delay in peaceful efforts to resolve the situation in the Middle East. “As you can see, there is a gap. Democracy and the aspirations of ordinary people are not reflected in the politics of the elite [of the United States]. Hopefully, things will change, but it may be difficult to achieve this,” he said.

The conversation took place on the side-lines of the Eastern Economic Forum, which took place in Russia on September 3rd-6th.
