“Dear friends, the President of Belarus asked me to meet and welcome you, while ensuring your work as much as possible. As it was agreed with presidents Zelenskyy and Putin, you can feel completely safe. This is our sacred duty," the Foreign Minister said.

The Russian and Ukrainian delegations are holding their first talks today. The sides have met in the Gomel Region on the banks of the Pripyat River. Due to security reasons, the organisers of the negotiations do not name the exact location.

The Russian delegation – led by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky – also includes the Deputy Defence Minister, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma Leonid Slutsky, and Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov.

Ukraine is represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Mykola Tochytskyi, Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, advisor to the Head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak, head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia, MP Rustem Umerov, and First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group Andriy Kostin.
