Makei: Belarus ready to participate in Russia-Ukraine negotiations if necessary
Belarus is ready to participate in a negotiation process of Russia and Ukraine, if it is asked for and if it is necessary – as stated by Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei in his talk with China Central Television, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service reports
“What is our role? We are not a party of these negotiations, although we do not shirk from responsibility and are ready to participate in the negotiation process and contribute to resolving the situation – if we are asked to do so and if it is necessary," the Foreign Minister said.
As Mr. Makei stressed, the Belarusian side is now focused on providing maximum assistance to both delegations, “We are trying to ensure convenient logistics, while providing all necessary organisational and technical aid.”
“Importantly, the President of Belarus has unambiguously guaranteed security to all participants during these negotiations. So we are ready to further make our contribution in order to achieve success at these negotiations as soon as possible," Mr. Makei stressed.
