Maduro: Europe should be grateful to USSR for its liberation from Nazism

European countries should be grateful to the Red Army and the Soviet Union for their liberation from the Nazi regime in 1945 – as stated by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, TASS reports

Upon arriving in Russia to participate in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Venezuelan leader said, “Europe should be grateful to the Red Army and the Soviet Union, which liberated it from Nazism and fascism. It was the Red Army that liberated Europe."

Nicolas Maduro also called the victory the USSR achieved in 1945 ‘the greatest’. He emphasised that the Red Army triumph became the victory of all mankind.
