Lukashenko: Year of Quality and current five-year quality plan are most topical development strategy at the time being

The goal of the current five-year quality plan is to ensure a new quality of the Belarusians’ life, the pursuit of which should become a way of thinking and a national style to be passed down from one generation to another – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at today’s State Quality Mark awarding ceremony

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “The Year of Quality and the current five-year quality plan are the most topical development strategy at this historical stage, our response to the challenges of the time, the issue of national sovereignty. It is a time of fierce competition in all spheres (from production to civil society) and at all levels (from personal professional realisation to strengthening the country's position in the global world order).”

The Belarusian leader believes quality is both the end result and the path. According to him, it is our main resource, along with hard work, intelligence and discipline – ‘thanks to which we live in the independent country despite unprecedented pressure’. “Thirty years have passed, and they have been peaceful and creative. Having started by solving the pressing issues of survival at the beginning of our path, we have now entered the trajectory of development. The results of the Year of Quality – that we are summarising today – are based on the decades of our development,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.

Therefore, as noted by the President, it is natural that My Belarus exposition of achievements – hosted by the new Minsk International Exhibition Centre – became the main event of the past year. In less than a month, it was visited by 300,000+ people, who saw the result of a truly heroic work.

“No matter how many obstacles they create for us, the key sectors of the economy demonstrated a rise, and our GDP amounted to 104 percent in 2024. Belarusian products were exported to 154 countries, generating over $50bn, and we entered fourteen new sales markets," Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.

The President added that new facilities were built in the country, and the development of transport, housing and communal infrastructure continues. Modern technologies have been introduced into production, and consumer satisfaction with industrial products stands at almost 97 percent.

The Head of State stressed: the declared five-year quality plan is another milestone. “A high level has been set, and it will not just become a guideline for the work of economic sectors, but will affect all spheres of the state and society. The goal is to ensure a new quality of our life, the pursuit of which should become a way of thinking, a national style passed down from one generation to another. The flywheel of succession must work in such a way that no outside influence can shake the foundations we have laid down,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
