Lukashenko: wise approach needed to establishing agro-industrial integration structures
Consolidation of agricultural facilities needs to be continued – avoiding artificial unification. The President of Belarus believes the issue should be approached wisely.
During today’s meeting focusing on agricultural issues in the Postavy District, the Head of State noted it is necessary to enlarge farms up to 10,000 hectares, but avoid artificial unification. They should be united with a certain goal in mind. Moreover, this might be viewed as a bonus for those who are added with a low-performing facility. “A company head will think over and understand: if he gets a complex, then his farm will work better as well,” the President noted.
Aleksandr Lukashenko called for a deliberate approach to creation of integration agricultural structures, “An association should be established consciously. You should see the perspective and avoid a situation when an additional burden is added to a farm and it collapses then. This should not happen. We have experienced this in recent years.”
