Lukashenko will pay working visit to Uzbekistan on September 15th-16th to participate in SCO summit

On September 15th-16th, Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan to participate in the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation summit – as informed by the Belarusian leader’s press service

It is planned that the Belarusian leader will address an expanded meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State on September 16th. Aleksandr Lukashenko will voice the priorities of Belarus' co-operation in the SCO format, including taking into account the previously submitted application for the country's accession to this organisation as a full member (currently Belarus has observer status). Topical issues on the international agenda will also be in focus.

Aleksandr Lukashenko’s meetings with foreign colleagues are also planned in Samarkand. Mainly bilateral topics and development of co-operation in key areas are supposed to be discussed.

The President of Belarus will also take part in a number of informal events organised by the Uzbek side for the summit participants.
