Lukashenko: wildlife protection will be enhanced in Belarus
The issues of boosting the work dealing with flora and fauna protection have been discussed today during Aleksandr Lukashenko’s meeting with the Head of the State Inspectorate on Wildlife Protection under the President, Yuri Tertel
In the beginning of the conversation, the Head of State noted that a considerable period has already passed since Mr. Tertel’s appointment [since June 2018], “You are mistaken if you think that the Inspectorate has been forgotten. What need to be done to make it even more effective? Have the shortcomings that were at that time been eradicated? If you remember, I especially focused on discipline and even on the facts of corruption then. A military man was sent there with the purpose to restore order. Let's put things in order, and how will we progress along this avenue further?”
The President stressed, “The fact is that we should enhance our work on wildlife protection – to preserve a green island of nature in the centre of Europe for the future. There is no pathos here. We live in greenery: I mean our nature. I would like our children to live in the same world as well.”
