Lukashenko: West needs to initiate conflict here
On meeting with Ukrainian politician and statesman Alexander Moroz today, the President of Belarus agreed with the guest's opinion that Ukraine is now actually under external control
“This is seen from the situation that is currently developing. I already notice that your politicians start disavowing from the West’s general line. I know for sure what the West needs here today: to initiate a conflict. They know how to use others to fight – as you are aware of. Let Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians die there. Let them die, it is far away. Cries are heard now: a war, a war! Listen, if any war is being planned against Ukraine, then the mass media would behave completely differently as well since the media is a ‘softening-up’ of modern warfare. As soon as these cries about the war in Ukraine subside for a moment, a signal comes from America again – and this hysteria begins to warm up. So it is clear who needs this war,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The Head of State touched upon the topic of the Belarusian-Russian military exercises currently being held. He believes a nervous reaction of the western countries is completely groundless.
“Listen, before this hysteria, we decided on exercises in the south of our Republic. We were to conduct them in order to determine where we should keep a small number of troops in connection with what is happening in Ukraine – taking into account a flow of weapons, our fugitives (there are many of them there), formation of camps, and training. There is already an inflow of these subverts from there, openly speaking. Therefore, we need to somehow put our border in order. At the same time, we should maintain good relations with Ukrainians, at least in the border region. Not to prevent them from picking mushrooms and berries as it was in the past, from coming to us and leaving our territory. It is an in-depth question,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
