Speaking of military and political co-operation, Belarus’ President noted, “It has taken a lead now – thanks to our western partners’ efforts. We have to respond both in terms of our military exercises and diplomacy. I think they are unlikely to succeed here either. They have already lost the first round. As I see, they are now stepping into the second one – threating the whole world that we will tomorrow attack Ukraine, surround and destroy it, and so on. We have never had plans of the kind – no matter how much we discussed these issues. Nevertheless, we will continue to train our people [through military exercises – BelTA’s remark]. There is no getting away from it."

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that, the day before, he visited the Allied Resolve 2022 Belarusian-Russian exercises to inspect the performance of Russian and Belarusian units. “There were many foreigners and journalists. It was very impressive. Tomorrow – if everything goes well – we will attend an interesting event with you. We will participate in these activities. This is also our life and the life of our people – Belarusians and Russians," he said.
